A couple of weeks ago, I was scrolling on Tiktok and stumbled upon a video of a world-renowned female entrepreneur being interviewed on stage. During the interview, she was asked "what is your advice to all the women out there?"
She had one advice that really changed my perspective in life. She said "everyone knows who they are in high school, you knew who you wanted to be since you were in high school, be that person today".
And it got me thinking - she was actually right.
I knew who I wanted to be since I was 16. I didn't tell anyone, but deep deep down inside. I knew. I just knew who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do.
And what is that you ask?
Since I was 16, I've always wanted to create my own magazine. Of course, publishing was so much different at the time. In order to publish a magazine, you'd need a publishing house, you need to invest in printing, getting cover girls, writers, contributors, photo shoots etc., We all know how complicated things used to be. Before the digital era that is...
And now - the best part
I created my own online magazine. It's my passion project. I'm combining my love for writing along with finding the best places to eat, cool hang out spots, fun activities, keeping up with the latest trends, events, sales, shopping, and even getting to know our favorite Auckland influencers and bloggers.
All these were made possible by my 16-year-old-self. She must be so proud of me right now.
In line with this, I introduce you to the very first issue of She Heart Auckland.
